This November, Sydney’s iconic late-night haunt Goros is marking its 11th birthday with a month-long celebration like no other. From 5th November – 6th December, the venue will undergo a full Konbini-style takeover, transforming into a neon-lit Japanese convenience store-inspired playground. From grab-and-go snacks and retro games to immersive photo ops and surprise giveaways, every corner offers something quirky, chaotic and unmistakably Goros.
Inspired by Japan’s iconic 24-hour convenience stores, the Konbini Takeover brings a bold, high-energy experience that’s equal parts nostalgia and late-night atmosphere. The headline celebration, Goros’ 11th Birthday on 7th November, promises all-out convenience store chaos with dancing, giveaways and late-night revelry; including $7 Kirin Hyoketsu schooners & $11 Hyoketsu Slushies served all night long. Meanwhile, the return of cult-favourite Goros Castle on 3rd December will bring back its signature dose of lively entertainment and unforgettable moments.
The specially crafted menu will offer Konbini-inspired dishes, including Tuna Onigiri, Yakisoba-Pan and Fried Prawn (aka Noodle Sando) and Bento Boxes featuring a choice of Karaage, Pork Katsu, or Teriyaki Tofu. For something sweet, the Strawberry Sando makes its debut; a playful, dessert-style nod to classic Konbini treats. Behind the bar, the drinks menu delivers bold, refreshing twists featuring sake, yuzu and cold brew with a kick. From creations such as the Mando Sando, to the Roba Soda and even the Pocari Pine Slushie, each cocktail offers a fun, flavour-packed experience.
Throughout the celebratory takeover, guests can enjoy interactive experiences such as receiving a Scratch Card with every Hyoketsu Slushie purchase, offering chances to win instant prizes or a selection of Goros surprises. Meanwhile, the Konbini photo booth invites guests to strike a pose and share their #KonbiniFitCheck on socials.
Running for five weeks, the Konbini Takeover is a nostalgic, late-night Japanese-style experience with a signature Goros twist – a celebration of good vibes and convenience, where you can sip, play and win your way through the night.
