Specialising in travel, tourism, hospitality, lifestyle and entertainment, we work with some of Australasia’s leading hotel brands, hospitality groups, tourism destinations, tour operators and lifestyle businesses. From securing national media coverage and hosting media famil programs to developing strategic campaigns and managing major launches, no two days are ever the same.

We’re currently seeking an Account Manager and a Account Executive to join our Sydney team. ACCOUNT MANAGER

Key responsibilities

Day-to-day management of client accounts and relationships

Lead client meetings, presentations and communications

Develop and implement public relations strategies and campaign plans aligned with client objectives

Draft press releases, media materials, key messages and briefing documents

Proactively pitch stories and secure media coverage across print, digital, broadcast and social media channels

Identify emerging trends, news opportunities and editorial angles relevant to client brands

Develop influencer, partnership and brand collaboration opportunities

Assist with new business proposals, agency credentials and pitch presentations

Assist with award submissions and industry recognition programs

Prepare and oversee client reporting, WIPs and campaign evaluations

Develop media kits and supporting communications materials

Facilitate interviews and prepare spokesperson briefing documents and key messaging

Plan and manage media events, launches and activations

Manage stakeholder relationships across clients, partners and media

Oversee individual and group famil programs, which may involve hosting and interstate or international travel

Monitor media coverage, competitor activity and industry trends, providing strategic recommendations to clients

Support and mentor junior team members where required

Identify opportunities for account growth and additional client services

About you

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in public relations, communications or a related field, preferably within an agency environment

Proven experience managing client accounts and delivering successful communications campaigns

Strong understanding of the Australian media landscape and influencer environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong presentation and stakeholder management abilities

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and commercial awareness

Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of projects and outcomes

Experience within travel, tourism, hospitality, lifestyle or related sectors will be highly regarded

Degree qualified in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline

 

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Key responsibilities

Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media contacts, journalists and influencers across the travel, hospitality, food and beverage, tourism and lifestyle sectors

Draft press releases, media alerts, briefing documents and other communications materials

Support the development and execution of targeted media outreach campaigns to secure coverage across print, digital, broadcast and social media platforms

Assist with influencer engagement and partnership opportunities

Monitor media coverage, industry trends and competitor activity, providing insights and recommendations to the team and clients

Support the planning and delivery of media events, launches and client activations

Assist with the organisation and management of individual and group famil programs, which may involve hosting and interstate or international travel

Maintain media databases, contact lists and media matrices

Research and develop story ideas, identifying relevant trends, news opportunities and editorial hooks for clients

Assist with campaign planning and strategic communications initiatives

Prepare coverage reports and assist with monthly client reporting

Support the management of Eight Communications’ social media channels and website content

Contribute creative ideas and opportunities to keep client campaigns fresh and newsworthy

About you

Minimum 12 months’ experience in a public relations, communications, media or related role

Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail

Understanding of Australian media and social media platforms

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills

Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work collaboratively within a team

Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, hotels, food and beverage or lifestyle sectors will be highly regarded

A tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline will be highly regarded
