KIMPTON MARGOT SYDNEY

We’ve worked with the Kimpton Margot Sydney team since early 2022 and helped to officially launch the brand into the Australian market which created significant and ongoing awareness of the hotel, generating more than 100 million media impressions and more than $26 million dollars of ASR value.

This included managing the official Australian launch event of the brand to key media, influencers and stakeholders, amplifying arts and cultural partnerships such as Moulin Rouge and Beauty & The Beast, activating F&B offerings in Luke’s Kitchen and The Wilmot Bar, ongoing media relations and an extensive media and influencer famil program. In 2023, we launched Harper Rooftop Bar, the hotel’s long awaited rooftop bar, garnering over $2.2 million in ASR and over 17 million in audience reach in just three months (October - December 2023).

KEY PR ACTIVITY

We have worked with the Kimpton Margot Sydney team since early 2022 and helped to officially launch the brand into the Australian market which created significant and ongoing awareness of the hotel.

We achieved this through the implementation of a number of key PR campaign elements including:

  1. Managing and hosting the official media launch event
  2. Creative event ideation
  3. Working with key collaborative partners (i.e. Art Gallery of NSW)
  4. Writing and distributing media releases on the launch of the brand as well as key partnerships and F&B activations
  5. Managing an ongoing media and influencer famil program
  6. Ongoing media relations
  7. Establishing strong relationships with industry contacts such as Destination NSW

LAUNCH EVENT

As part of the PR launch strategy, Eight managed and hosted the official media launch of the Kimpton brand in Australia by hosting an Opening Dinner Soiree for travel, lifestyle, celebrity, F&B, and industry media. It was an evening of art deco glamour that showcased Kimpton Margot Sydney at its finest – from the food, ambience, entertainment, cocktails and guest experience.

The evening was centred around the lobby which was styled beautifully and included live entertainment with a jazz band and a roving saxophonist that referenced the art deco mood to freshly shaken cocktails and canapes representing Social Hour. For something truly unique, we had two llamas in the lobby as a way of showcasing the hotel’s pet-friendly motto of ‘If it fits in the lift, it’s welcome!’. We then hosted small groups of guests up to Level 6 where one of the suites was activated with Champagne and Caviar while another room showcased the pet-friendly elements of the hotel before guests returned to the lobby for an elegant sit-down dinner at Luke’s Kitchen.

This involved creative execution, event management and media liaison with 40 media and influencers including Traveller,  Escape, delicious, Australian Traveller, Broadsheet, Qantas Magazine, Vogue, Tourism Australia, Travel & Luxury, HM Magazine, SMH Traveller, Alyce Tran and Christina Wilkinson in attendance, generating extensive social and media coverage.
