Industrious, the world’s leading workplace experience company, today announced the opening of its newest Australian location at 1 Elizabeth Street, set to launch on October 1, 2026.

Located above Sydney Metro Martin Place Station within industry leading building 1 Elizabeth, the opening marks Industrious’ third Sydney CBD location and places members within one of the city’s most significant new commercial developments.

As one of Sydney’s rare over-station developments, 1 Elizabeth Street brings together workplace, transport, retail and public space within a fully connected precinct. Occupying Levels 35 and 36 of the 174-metre tower, Industrious at 1 Elizabeth Street combines seamless connectivity, leading sustainability credentials and contemporary workplace design in the centre of the city’s financial district.

“1 Elizabeth Street represents a significant milestone in Industrious’ continued growth across Australia and further strengthens our footprint within Sydney’s CBD,” said Gentry Long, President at Industrious. “Alongside our locations at Castlereagh Street and One O’Connell Street, this opening reinforces our commitment to scaling our footprint in Australia with best-in-class workplaces in the city’s most prestigious addresses.”

Following its acquisition by CBRE Group in 2025, Industrious has continued to scale rapidly globally, recording 52 new signings in 2025, a 58% year-on-year increase. The company now operates more than 250 locations across 80+ cities worldwide, with plans for more than 60 additional openings in 2026.

This opening comes amidst continued growth in Australia’s flexible workspace sector, driven by increasing demand from enterprise clients seeking premium, centrally located workplaces that support hybrid work models.

Spanning 2,158 square metres across two levels, Industrious 1 Elizabeth brings together flexible, focused and collaborative workspaces, including 43 private offices designed for teams of 3–22. Conceived by Kulor Group and Design GSA, the design concept celebrates what makes Sydney unique, drawing on its material character through warm sandstone, rich local timbers, shimmering water-inspired surfaces and raw concrete textures. These elements combine to create a layered, grounded palette that feels connected to the city and its context. Curved walls and ceiling arches frame a void space that allows Members on Level 36 to overlook the Drawing Room on Level 35.

Thoughtfully designed shared and private spaces draw on Sydney’s natural light, harbour outlooks and contemporary commercial architecture. Meeting rooms are tailored for collaborative and client-facing use, while dedicated phone booths and wellness rooms provide moments of privacy and reset throughout the day. Ergonomic furnishings, from height-adjustable desks to flexible lounge seating, support a range of working styles and configurations.

In addition to Industrious’s hospitality-driven experiences combining best-in-class design  and premium amenities, members will also benefit from access to premium end-of-trip facilities, concierge services, a large scale event space, public art installations and nearby dining destinations including Loulou Bistro, Rockpool Bar & Grill and Restaurant Hubert.
